This week the Goldap Fight Night tournament was held, which was an amateur event with support from the World Boxing Association (WBA) in the city of Goldap, Poland. The competition is part of the WBA amateur program and is in line with the “One Boxing” plan created by the president of the organization, Gilberto Jesus Mendoza.

The evening held eight fights in different weights and included fighters from Poland, Lithuania and Russia. The fighters participated in an intense competition that left great fights full of action and demonstrated the quality of the European fighters.

The event was organized by Damian Szafran and Muks Husaria was in charge of the event production.

Jacek Morzy, mayor of the city, was present at the tournament in addition to the sports director Mariusz Kowalczyk and the 15th Goldap Antiaircraft Regiment, Grzegorz Szafran. Former fighter Andriy Kotelnik was the guest of honor at the tournament and shared his experiences with the younger fighters.

The WBA is proud to be able to collaborate in this type of initiative and to be an active part of the integration of pro/am boxing to achieve the most suitable way to unite both branches in favor of pugilism.
