Mark Urvanov and Angel Rodriguez starred in the last press conference before their World Boxing Association (WBA) super featherweight eliminator fight, to be held at the RCC Boxing Academy in Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Both fighters met face to face and talked about their upcoming bout, which will be very important for their careers and their aspirations to fight for a world title in the near future.

“My motivation is first of all to become a world champion,” Urvanov assured.  Angel has long arms, his opponents can’t get within a comfortable distance of him. And if it works, Rodriguez fights back well. But I’ve drawn some conclusions for myself. I guess you just need to pick up the key and go in for once,” the home fighter continued.

Rodriguez also talked about his opponent and concluded that because of their styles it will be an interesting fight for the public: “Urvanov is a very technical boxer. But I think I am not inferior to him in this sense. We were both preparing seriously for this fight and we will not make mistakes in the ring. I think it will be a great fight and we will have fun and put on a good show”.

The press conference completed, it only remains for both to step on the scales to mark the 130 pounds required by the division and on Saturday they will be ready for the bout. Urvanov has 20 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 10 knockouts, while Rodriguez has 19 wins, 1 loss and 10 knockouts.
