“Let’s do it, we can do it, let’s do it together.”—Gilberto Mendoza.

The World Boxing Association stands in solidarity with the Belgian people and strongly rejects the terrorist attacks on Tuesday in Brussels.

Board members of the WBA and all who make up our family extend our hand in friendship to all Belgians and especially to our group of officers and fighters who are part of our team and beloved sport.

Since the beginning of the WBA we have rejected all kinds of violence and worked for the union of peoples through sport. The KO Drugs program has been implemented as a means to promote peace.

The WBA does not believe that violence is the right way for people to express their grievances and fight for their ideals. We also strongly believe that the Belgian people will soon recover from yesterday’s attack. We want them to know that the WBA will do all it can by doing what we do best through boxing.

We hope and pray that the people of Belgium will soon to recover from this blow.

The WBA is in your corner.
