Rest in peace Maria Neida Cuevas

The World Boxing Association (WBA) regrets the death of Mrs. María Neida Cuevas, mother of Roger Gutiérrez, WBA world title challenger.

Gutiérrez is one of the great Venezuelan warriors today and since he began his search for the world title he has emphasized that one of his main motivations has been his mother, who was fighting against cancer for several years.

Mrs. Maria was always a great support for her son and accompanied him throughout his career, both in good and bad times.

The loss of Gutierrez comes at a difficult time, just as he prepares to face the WBA Champion, Rene Alvarado. The organization and its president, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, knows about your dream, Roger; and knows how hard you have worked to reach this opportunity, which is why it wishes you strength and comfort during this process.

To Roger, his family and friends, we offer our condolences. Peace to Mrs. María Neida Cuevas’ soul.
