Xavier Martinez (15-0, 11 KOs) and Claudio Marrero (24-4, 17 KOs) fulfilled the requirements for their World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Featherweight title eliminator fight. Both will step into the ring at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut, on Saturday night in an interesting bout that promises good action.

Both Martinez and Marrero stopped the scales at exactly 130 pounds, which makes them ready for the bout endorsed by the world’s oldest organization.

Martinez is a 22-year-old American prospect who is undefeated and will make his first fight of this kind. He wants to take an important step in his aspirations for greatness and a world title.

First, he will have to get past Marrero, a complicated southpaw with experience who has already been interim champion. The Dominican has a good boxing style and will give it all to get a new title opportunity at the age of 31.

The fight is scheduled to 12 rounds between both rated boxers. Martinez is in the seventh position and Marrero is in the fourth position of the WBA ranking.
