Hiroto Kyoguchi’s debut in the United States went according to his plan. The Japanese defended his World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight Super Championship this Saturday night by defeating Axel Aragón Vega by TKO in the fifth round.

An injury in Aragón Vega’s hand forced the referee to stop the actions when the fight was in a great moment and the Japanese got the victory.

It was a very entertaining fight in which Kyoguchi faced the Mexican style of his rival. Aragón Vega put pressure on the champion from the first moment and forced him to fight inside in the first chapters with good blow exchanges.

Kyoguchi adapted little by little and, as the rounds went by, he worked the distance better to put his rival at bay and begin to impose his style.

However, the Mexican kept moving forward and complicating the Asian, fighting and making it clear that he was giving his all to obtain the WBA title. The fateful moment for the challenger came in the fifth round when an impact to the body caused a injury to his hand and made him turn around. Seeing his bad condition, the third man on the ring decided to stop the actions.

Kyoguchi made his first appearance in America and retained his belt for the third time. In addition, he kept his undefeated record in 15 fights, 10 of them won by KO. Aragón Vega leaves his record at 14 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, and 8 KOs.
