The World Boxing Association (WBA) applauds the efforts of the National Boxing Commission (Conabox) and its president, Miguel Torruco, in contributing to the efforts of making Mexican sport grow and in working hand in hand with the national government for that goal.

The Mexican national boxing body created a program that seeks to help strengthening and promoting boxing-related activities for children and adults.

“We have carried out actions for the promotion of boxing at all levels of its practice, from the initiation and the development of excellence for free so that the Mexican population, besides learning and practicing this activity, is motivated and decides to take a more physically active and healthy life”, said Torruco about the plan, which is in harmony with the idea of the President of the Republic, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The Mexican commissioner, who is also a member of the World Boxing Association (WBA) Directorate, pointed out how important the project is for the youth as it is a way to keep them away from risky behaviors such as drug addiction, alcoholism and delinquency.

The WBA applauds the efforts of Torruco and Conabox to influence society and have a positive impact on the population. We are pleased to work hand in hand with such a prestigious institution that shares the WBA values. Let’s keep moving forward together.
