Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first world championship of Antonio Cervantes, the greatest boxer in the history of Colombia and one of the most outstanding Latin American boxers of all time. The South American country is in full celebration of his feat and a series of activities have been carried out, including a boxing event to be held in Cartagena next Sunday, November 6.

Among the activities have been talks, press conferences and interviews with the champion while preparing the big event that will be promoted by the company Alberto Agámez Producciones.

The José Fernández Madrid Library of the University of Cartagena served as the venue for the meeting with Cervantes on Thursday, October 27. The local Councilman, Rafael Meza Pérez, convened the event in which the legend spoke with journalists Estewil Quesada, Eugenio Baena, Fredy Jinete and the renowned boxing trainer, Orlando Pineda.

“Kid Pambelé” spoke of his feats and his influence on Colombian society, while stressing that he is still the greatest and the people recognize him as such.

The events in honor of Pambelé will continue in the next few days with different talks in various cities, while the final event will be the evening at the Bernardo Caraballo Coliseum on Sunday, November 6.
