Erislandy Lara easily overpowered Greg Vendetti to retain his World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Welterweight title for the first time this Saturday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The judges got cards of 116-112, 117-111 and 117-111 for the Cuban boxer to retain his black and gold belt at 154 pounds in the main fight of the evening organized by Premier Boxing Champions.

Lara showed his superiority from the very beginning and worked at a distance with a great boxing style against Vendetti, who had the will but did not manage to complicate the Cuban southpaw.

“The American Dream” took advantage of his reach and used his straight right very well to land heavy blows and take almost all of the rounds.

The Cuban boxer achieved the 27th victory of his career, with 3 losses, 3 draws, and 15 KOs. On the other hand, Vendetti’s left his record at 22 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, and 12 KOs.
