Liliana “La Tigresa” Palmera, World Boxing Association (WBA) World Super Bantamweight Champion, was received with distinction in her hometown Montería the morning of this Tuesday, November 21.

Palmera, who defeated the Venezuelan Alys Sánchez last Saturday, arrived in Montería showing her black and gold belt and immediately met with the press, who wanted to hear the first words of the Champion. Then, she could finally greet her family and friends, who went to receive her at the airport.

After that, she got in a car that the took her to the headquarters of the Colombian Army, where Palmera would have all her workouts, and was received with heartfelt honors.

“Honestly, I am very excited. I knew I was going to be well received, but I wasn’t expecting all of this. I am honored that the Army formed to receive me. This motivates me to keep working harder to give my first defense and retain my title”, said Palmera.

This Wednesday, the champion will make a tour around Montería that will end at the Department of Cordoba Governorate, where a press conference with the Governor will be held.
