WBA bantamweight female champion Irma “Torbellino” Garcia must make her mandatory defense against the Interim champion Mayerlin Rivas, president of WBA women, George Martinez, announced.

Martinez said that García and Rivas have 30 days to negotiate from October 1, 2014. During that period both parties should agree on a date and site for the fight ordered by the WBA championship Committee, chaired by Gilberto Jesús Mendoza.

Garcia fought last Saturday with the Brazilian Simone Da Silva, however, the belt was not at stake. Rivas, fought last time on August 30 in Caracas, when she won the interim title defeating Arely Valente.

Garcia, 11-1-1, 2 KO´s, who has been the champion since January 2013 and Rivas 10-3-1, 7 KO´s, must fight to determine the world champion of the division.
