With a massive media presence, the open workout of Dayana Cordero and Mayerlin Rivas was held at the Obelisco Shopping Center in Medellin City.
Both boxers are training for the bout scheduled on November 1st at La Macarena Show Center in the Antioquia’s capital.
The Venezuelan and absolute bantamweight (118 pounds) champion will face the Colombian and current interim champion of the same division in a 10-round bout.
“Diamante” Cordero said the following about the bout: “My expectations are quite high, we both are champions, the interim and the absolute one, and we’ll provide a high quality bout that will demand us a lot.”
She also commented that she trained in Panama with sparring in accordance with her contender abilities. And finally, she added: “It is a dream came true to fight for the absolute title at home with the support of my people,” said the Antioquian boxer, Cordero.
At the same time, Mayerlin “La monita” Rivas, is waiting to see how the fight will be developing and does not think about a knockout.
Regarding to her contender words, “La monita” said: “There are boxers who talk too much, she has two hands, two feet, I have two hands and two feet also and we both know how to fight, she is a great boxer, I had to challenge her by social networks, it was already time she agreed to fight with me.”
“La Monita” is used to fighting outside her country, so her ability of showing the best of her boxing won’t be limited.
With this last public training, everything is ready for the fight that will take place on Wednesday, November 1st, at night in La Macarena Show Center.
