Choi will defend against González this Saturday in South Korea.

The Korean Hyun Mi Choi will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Featherweight crown against the Mexican Jessica Gonzalez. Both fighters will step in the ring this Saturday at the Gyeyang Gym in Incheon, South Korea, to fight for the WBA Championship at 130 pounds.

Choi has been champion in two categories since 2008. She went from Featherweight to Super Featherweight in 2013, when she won the WBA belt. She has defended the championship at 130 pounds on four occasions and will try to do it once more against the tough Latin American challenger, who arrives in Asia with a great hunger for victory.

The local has a record of 14 wins, no defeats, and a draw, while 4 of her wins have been before the limit. The challenger has a record of 7 wins, 3 setbacks and 2 draws, with 1 fight won by knockout.
