Norway’s Cecilia Braekhus and Argentina’s Erica Farías are ready for a big battle this Friday, June 9th, in Bergen, Norway, where they will fight for the World Boxing Association Female Welterweight title.

Braekhus, who is the only boxer to have the belts of the four most important boxing bodies, will defend for the twentieth time her WBA belt. In addition, this will be the third time the gladiator fights in her country, where boxing was banned from 1981 to 2017.

“When I fought in Oslo it was fantastic, but I think this fight in Bergen can be even bigger,” said “The First Lady” on Tuesday at the press conference and added “I have all my belts at stake, so I have much more to lose, but I am 110 percent ready for this battle”.

On the other hand, Farias is former WBC Super Lightweight World Champion and for the first time will fight in the Welterweight division.

“This is the most important fight of my life. It is a great challenge for me, I always wanted to fight against her (Braekhus) and I am very happy to be able to do it. That’s why we have worked very hard to adapt to this new weight”, said “La Pantera”.

After the press conference prior to this battle, there is only one more stop: the weigh-in ceremony on Thursday, June 8th.
