The XXXVIII edition of the World Boxing Association (WBA) KO a las Drogas Boxing Festival will take place in Argentina this week with several activities and two boxing events, which will be held on Thursday and Friday at the Casino Buenos Aires.
Several regional championships and a world title fight will take place on the week’s events. On Thursday there will be a fight between the Argentine Mirco Cuello and the Venezuelan Leonardo Padilla for the international featherweight belt, as well as the fight between the Venezuelan Roiman Villa and the Argentine Joel Mafauad for the super lightweight intercontinental belt.
On Friday, the super flyweight world championship will be disputed between Mexican champion Maribel Ramirez and Argentinean challenger Clara Lescurat, while there will also be an important clash for the Americas Continental light heavyweight title between Argentinean Brian Suarez and Venezuelan Albert Ramirez.
Additionally, the president of the pioneer organization, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, will visit the Buenos Aires campus of the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE) to be the speaker at the talk “Strengths and Challenges of Boxing” on Tuesday.
There will also be different seminars and activities during the course of the week with the objective of training and imparting learning in the midst of this great festival. The WBA is excited and proud to return to Argentina with this event and to be able to contribute to the development of boxing in such an important country.
