Jessica McCaskill will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight championship and the WBO, IBF and WBC belts this Saturday against Alma Ibarra at the Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, Texas.

The undisputed 147 lbs. champion will make the third defense of her championships in the Matchroom Boxing event, which will also feature a bout between Murodjon Akhmadaliev and Ronny Rios for the WBA super bantamweight championship.

The American dethroned legend Cecilia Braekhus in August 2020, when she defeated her by majority decision in Oklahoma. In March 2021, the rematch took place and McCaskill repeated history and defended her titles for the first time with a new victory in Dallas, this time by unanimous decision. Subsequently, last December he defeated Kandi Wyatt and won his second defense.

Now her opponent will be Ibarra, a tough Mexican who comes to the fight on a good run. She already has experience fighting for the 154-pound world title and has defeated opponents such as Maricela Cornejo and Kandi Wyatt herself.

McCaskill has a record of 11 wins, 2 losses and 4 knockouts. Ibarra, meanwhile, has 10 wins, 1 loss and 5 knockouts.
