The World Boxing Association (WBA) sends its best wishes to Errol Spence after learning of the injury that will take him out of action for his scheduled fight against Manny Pacquiao on August 21 in Las Vegas.

The American southpaw is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters today and suffered a retinal tear, a delicate injury that requires a full recovery.

The most important thing now is the health of Spence, who at 31 years of age is one of the most important fighters of today. The WBC and IBF champion is a man of challenges and wants to achieve greatness, so we know he will come back stronger to continue growing his legacy and improving boxing, which also needs him and his performances today.

We hope to see him soon inside the ring doing what he knows how to do and giving great performances to the world.
