WBA rankings had great movement in February

The World Boxing Association (WBA) published its February rankings with all the corresponding changes and important news.

It is worth mentioning that the Directorate met this Monday, February 28, and made decisions to support peace in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and decided to remove from the rankings all Russian and Belarusian boxers who were in the list.

In the case of the reigning world or regional champions, they will maintain their respective status as monarchs of the pioneering body and will be able to defend their titles.

The places where Russian or Belarusian fighters were rated are now identified as “unrated” along with a #Nowar message instead of the nationality.

The pioneer organization will continue a month-to-month review of this temporary measure, which could be reversed depending on the circumstances.

The organization has wanted to set its position against war and violence, so it is following in the footsteps of major international organizations in seeking to contribute to a cessation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Both the men’s and women’s ranking lists can be reviewed in the corresponding section of the WBA official website.
