The  has ordered the purse bid for the bridgerweight title bout between Muslim Gadzhimagomedov and Julio César La Cruz to take place on May 18.

Through its Championships Committee, the WBA officially called the purse bid hearing, which will be held at the WBA’s United States office in Cypress at 10:00 a.m. local time. The proceedings will be conducted by Championships Committee Vice Chairman Julio Thyme.

Gadzhimagomedov is the reigning champion of the division and is mandated to face La Cruz, who currently holds the No. 1 position in the bridgerweight rankings. The bout will be conducted under the official rules and regulations of the sanctioning body, with the purse split set at 75 percent for the champion and 25 percent for the challenger. The minimum bid for the promotional rights has been established at US$200,000.00.

The official notice was sent to all parties through the organization’s official channels this Friday, May 8, confirming that all involved have been formally notified of the purse bid proceedings.
