On an electrifying night at the Co-op Live Arena, hometown fighter Bradley “The Sting” Rea made a major statement in the light heavyweight division by stopping veteran Liam Cameron via fourth-round technical knockout to capture the vacant WBA Intercontinental crown.
The fight began with an aggressive and razor-sharp Bradley Rea. Using his height advantage and a stiff, commanding jab, Rea controlled the range from the opening bell, neutralizing Cameron’s attempts to fight his way inside. The Manchester native’s technical superiority became evident early, as he built a commanding 36-to-14 edge in power punches landed over the four rounds the bout lasted.
The finish came in explosive fashion during the fourth round. Rea dropped Cameron for the first time with a thunderous left hand that landed flush on the Sheffield fighter’s face. Although Cameron managed to beat the referee’s count, his physical condition was visibly compromised.
Moments later, Rea unleashed a precise combination that sent Cameron crashing to the canvas for a second time, forcing the referee to wave off the contest at the 1:35 mark of the round.
With the victory, Bradley Rea improves his record to 22-2 with 11 knockouts and further establishes himself as a serious force in the 175-pound division. Meanwhile, Liam Cameron falls to 24-8-1 after running into one of the most complete performances of Rea’s career in front of his hometown crowd.
