The World Boxing Association (WBA) mourns the death of boxer Jeanette Zacarías, who lost her final battle after spending several days in a coma following her bout last Saturday in Canada.

The boxing world is shocked by the loss of the 18-year-old boxer, who faced Marie Pier Houle last weekend and lost by technical knockout in the final part of the fight.

Zacarias collapsed and convulsed after the action was stopped, so she was taken to the hospital and given sedatives but was never able to regain consciousness.

The WBA family sends its condolences to the family and friends of the young Mexican at such a hard time for them. May you rest in peace, warrior.
