As part of the 100-year history of the WBA in 2021, the 99th convention will open on Wednesday, July 1st. This will be the first time that a convention will be held online because of the world situation, but it will also have the extra benefit of being open to everybody in the boxing world.

According to the premise of the president of the organization, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, that everyone should be able to understand boxing from the WBA’s perspective and at the same time show its transparent actions, those who register will enjoy this special convention.

The General Assembly will include the Directorate members, staff and committees that form the WBA family, led by its newly re-elected president, Gilberto Jesús Mendoza. The Assembly will analyze everything done so far to set a new course for the next 100 years. The rules will be analyzed, prioritizing the boxer, as well as the changes that the pandemic situation has brought, with new opportunities for boxing development. The rankings will also be reviewed.

With expectation and enthusiasm, the 99th Convention will be inaugurated in an exciting journey through 100 years of dedication and development of boxing. 100 years of history and evolution to the present times where reinventing ourselves is our primary task to give our best to the Sweet Science.
