Mark Urvanov and Angel Rodriguez will step into the ring of the RCC Boxing Academy, in Yekaterinburg, Russia, for a World Boxing Association (WBA) super featherweight eliminator bout this Saturday.

The bout will be part of the event organized by RCC Boxing Promotions and will be the co-main event of the day, which will feature the return of Jorge Linares facing Zaur Abdullaev in the main bout.

Urvanov, 25, is going through a great moment and will be appearing at home with the intention of getting a world title shot in the future. The Russian fighter fought twice in 2021 and in both fights he was victorious, so he comes into the fight with a great rhythm.

Rodriguez, a native of Venezuela, is 34 years old and will be making his first fight since December 2020. The South American was scheduled to fight Urvanov last year but difficulties with the pandemic and other paperwork prevented him from traveling to Russia at the time.

Urvanov comes into the fight with a record of 20 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 10 knockouts, while Rodriguez has 19 wins, 1 loss and 10 knockouts.

"Canelo" remains firm at the top of the pound-for-pound rankings
