Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will meet on April 30 at Madison Square Garden in one of the most anticipated fights in women’s boxing history. The Irishwoman will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight championship, in addition to her WBC, IBF and WBO belts, against the Puerto Rican.

Taylor and Serrano are considered two of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world today and for years fans have been expecting this fight.

Taylor was a great amateur fighter, an Olympic medal winner, and since becoming professional she has swept the 135-pound ranks and created a true mandate in the division. At 35 years of age, she will star in one of the most media-worthy female fights in history and aims to continue her undefeated record.

It won’t be easy since Serrano, who at 33 years old, has been champion in seven weight classes and has been in professional boxing for more than 13 years, is a historic figure in the sport. The Puerto Rican lost her last fight in 2012 and now challenges Taylor looking to further increase her legacy.

Taylor has 20 wins, 6 of them by knockout, while Serrano has a great record of 42 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 30 knockouts.
