New York’s Madison Square Garden will be the ideal setting for one of the most important fights in women’s boxing history. Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano were at the legendary venue for the first press conference ahead of their fight on April 30 and there is already a great atmosphere for the fight.

Taylor will put her World Boxing Association (WBA) lightweight championship on the line, in addition to her WBC, IBF and WBO belts. The event will be promoted by Matchroom Boxing and Jake Paul and is a great opportunity for women’s boxing to shine.

Katie knows how relevant the fight against Serrano is and how the boxing world has been buzzing with anticipation.

“This is history right here, this is a career-defining fight,” said the Irishwoman in her press conference.

Amanda also knows what’s at stake. In recent years there has been an ongoing discussion of who is better between the two and the Puerto Rican knows that this fight will settle that debate.

“The timing couldn’t be better. Katia is a great champion, we will find out who is the best pound for pound,” said Serrano.

New York and women’s boxing will live a great night on April 30 with one of the most anticipated fights that will mark a before and after in history for many reasons.
