Josh Taylor will return to the ring on May 22 to fight Jose Carlos Ramirez for the titles of the four major organizations at super lightweight, in which he will put his World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Championship on the line.

Top Rank announced on Tuesday afternoon one of the most anticipated fights in boxing and it seems to have a great matchup between the two best fighters in the division. The WBA Super Champion, Josh Taylor, owns the belt of the pioneer organization and is also champion of the IBF, while Ramirez holds the WBO and WBC belts.

Although there is a date and it is known that the fight will be broadcast by ESPN for the United States, the location has not been confirmed. However, it is expected to be held in Las Vegas.

Taylor has been WBA champion since October 2019, when he defeated Regis Prograis in the final of the World Boxing Super Series and made a defense against Apinun Khongsong in September 2020.

In Ramirez’s case, he has four defenses of the WBC belt and two of the WBO belt. He is a solid champion who offers a lot of action and has a very flashy style, which will make the bout a very interesting clash of styles.

Other details regarding the bout are expected to be announced by the promoter in the coming days.

Taylor has a record of 17 wins, no losses and 13 KOs, while Ramirez has a record of 26 wins, 0 losses, and 17 KOs.
