Glasgow began experiencing its boxing atmosphere on the eve of the big fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight super championship between Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall. On Wednesday, both fighters held open training sessions with a large presence of press and fans from Scotland.

Taylor will be defending his black and gold belt as well as the IBF, WBC and WBO titles in a major event to be held at the SSE Hydro Arena.

The public training is a promotional activity that generates great interest because it gives fans the opportunity to watch the fighters up close and observe a bit of how they prepare for the fight, plus it’s a good opportunity for journalists to talk to them and their teams.

Catterall worked with the gauntlets and did some stretching in front of the audience during his session. The Englishman seemed very motivated for the fight, which will be the most important of his career so far.

Taylor was the last to step into the ring. The Scot posed for the cameras while he did some work with his trainer and showed his great physical shape for the fight.

After this step, tomorrow they will have the last press conference and on Friday will be the weigh-in. Taylor is undefeated in 18 fights, with 13 knockouts and Catterall is also undefeated after 26 fights, 13 of them won by knockout.
