Russia’s Nikita Solonin captured the World Boxing Association (WBA) Asian light heavyweight crown with a first round knockout over India’s Arun Antil on Wednesday in Moscow, Russia. 

The 29-year-old Solonin was determined to finish the fight early and cornered Antil to win fast in the Russian capital and take the vacant regional belt of the pioneering organization. 

Solonin has gone from strength to strength in his career and with this victory he has now won four fights in a row. He did it against a fighter like Antil, who was on a two-fight winning streak before this fight.

Solonin’s record stands at 5 wins, all by knockout, 1 loss and 1 draw. In the case of Antil, his record was 8 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw, with 5 of them by knockout.
