Lightweight prospect Floyd Schofield will face Jesus Valentin Leon for the World Boxing Association (WBA) International title next Saturday, April 22 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Schofield, 20 years old, has been growing in the division and has shown quality in each of the fights he has had. For that reason, he has earned the opportunity to be in good fights, like the one he will be in next weekend.

The New Jersey native defeated Alberto Mercado last January 28, in Inglewood, and won the crown that he will put at stake in this opportunity. The American plans to make his first defense and look good in an important place and in a very important place in the world.

The challenger will be Valentin Leon, a young 23-year-old Mexican with good punching power. The Culiacán native will make his first presentation in the United States and wants to make himself known in the most important market for boxing. He arrives with a streak of three knockouts and has not lost a fight since 2018, so he presents himself as a tough opponent for the champion.

Schofield has 13 wins and 10 knockouts, while Valentin Leon has 23 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws and 19 knockouts.
