The World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Featherweight Champion Leo Santa Cruz’s team informed the Championships Committee that he will make his mandatory bout with the champion of the category, Leigh Wood.

The pioneer entity ordered the fight as part of the world title reduction plan and the winner will be the only WBA 126-pound champion.

Santa Cruz had requested a permit to unify his belt against WBC champion Rey Vargas, but after studying the case, the committee ratified that he must comply with the order and requested a response on this decision.

Finally, Santa Cruz’s team informed that he will fight the British fighter and in the next few days the details of the bout will be known
