Former British world champion Rocky Fielding announced Thursday his official retirement as a professional boxer. The Liverpool native made it official through a press release, in which he thanked the fans and highlighted his satisfaction for having completed a successful career.

Fielding was WBA super middleweight champion and won his title against German Tyron Zeuge on July 14, 2018. His high-profile fight came in his first defense of that crown against Saul Alvarez, to whom he lost by knockout on December 15 of that same year.

Fielding made his professional debut in 2010 and extended his career until February 2022, when he made his last fight. His record was 30 wins, 3 losses and 18 knockouts, fighting between super middleweight and light heavyweight.

The WBA sends its best wishes to Fielding in this new stage of his life and congratulates him for having had a great career as a fighter.
