Panamanian Ricardo “Científico” Núñez, ranked number 6 in the World Boxing Association (WBA) super featherweight division, was chosen as the 2021 Boxer of the Year in Panama.

Last year the fighter fought twice and on both occasions he won in the fast track. In his first fight, held on May 21, he won the WBA-Fedelatin belt.

“This distinction motivates me to continue working, to continue doing things well and to look for another opportunity to be crowned world champion”, said Núñez to the newspaper Crítica de Panamá.

The record of the “Scientist” is 23 victories, 21 of them by knockout and 3 defeats.
