The promotional press conference for the expected rematch for the WBA / IBF Super Lightweight world title fight between the American Lamont Peterson and the British boxer Amir Khan took place today in London, England.

Both boxers were present at the press conference, posed to the press, and answer some question to the media.  Everything took place under the attentive eye of the fans and mass media in the room.

Khan, who lost both titles in a Split Decision last December 10, said he had learned from his mistakes and is prepared not to make the same mistakes he made in the first fight. He promised stepped down the ring as the new champion.  On the other hand, Peterson said he was ready for his title defense and promised victory.

The American said he feels compelled. He said the post-fight allegations Khan made took the shine of his victory. “Khan has to accept he will not be world champion again,” said Peterson.

Peterson and Khan rematch is set to take place on May 19, at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hoy martes se realizó en Londres, Inglaterra, la conferencia de prensa promocional al esperado choque de revancha entre el norteamericano Lamont Peterson y el británico Amir Khan que tendrá en disputa el campeonato mundial súper ligero AMB / FIB.

Ambos boxeadores estuvieron presentes y la prensa aprovechó la oportunidad para que posaran frente a frente y respondieran sus preguntas. Todo se realizó en orden bajo la mirada atenta de fanáticos y medios de comunicación que se dieron cita al lugar.

Khan, quien perdió ambos títulos en una decisión dividida el pasado 10 de diciembre, dijo haber aprendido de sus errores y está preparado para no cometer las mismas fallas del primer combate. Prometió bajar del ring siendo nuevamente campeón mundial. Por su parte Peterson dijo estar listo para su defensa y también aseguró la victoria.

El estadounidense agregó que se siente comprometido. Alega que las denuncias realizadas por Khan posterior al combate le quitaron brillo a su victoria. “Khan tiene que aceptar que ya no será campeón mundial”, dijo Peterson.

La revancha entre Peterson y Khan está programada para el 19 de mayo en el Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino de Las Vegas Nevada.
