The president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaiman , and President of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Daryl Peoples , and executive vice president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Jesus Mendoza , lead the first Summit meeting of presidents of world bodies sanctioning the sport of boxing, which has been held this Monday morning, in the conference room of the “Business Center” Grand Oasis Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

The president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), Mauricio Sulaiman , and President of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Daryl Peoples , and executive vice president of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Gilberto Jesus Mendoza , lead the first Summit meeting of presidents of world bodies sanctioning the sport of boxing, which has been held this Monday morning, in the conference room of the “Business Center” Grand Oasis Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

Mendoza arrived late to a meeting, for delays in the Cancun airport, on his flight from Panama hours. WBA President Gilberto Mendoza not attend.

“Really this summit brand boxing history, as we meet the three major professional boxing organizations and we will be addressing topics of interest for the benefit of this exciting sport in the world, that’s the main goal,” said Mauricio Sulaiman to Notifight.

Besides Sulaiman and Peoples McAleenan presidents and director, also participate in this meeting, behind closed doors, managers Mike McAleenan (AMB), George Martinez (AMB), Miguel Prado (AMB), Rex Walker (CMB), Victor Silva (CMB), Alberto León (CMB), Juan Sanchez (CMB), Linda Torres (FIB) and Lindsey Tucker(IBF).

The meeting began at 9 AM, local time, and issues being addressed issues of common interest to the three global agencies.

Were not disclosed to the press an official agenda, but will be given details of everything discussed and agreed at a press conference scheduled for 4:30 PM local time.

The meeting serves as a framework to strengthen ties between the leaders of international boxing and lay the groundwork for unification of criteria in the future.

Furthermore, it is understood that issues such as recognition of the unique world champion, the use of “instant replay” to verify cut, regulation of gloves and the incursion of IBA in professional boxing were played, among others.
