Cuban David Morrell Jr. will make the first defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Middleweight belt this Sunday against Mexican Mario Cazares at the Minneapolis Armory in Minnesota.

Morrell, 23, won the title last August with a unanimous decision win over Guyanese Lennox Allen in California. The Cuban returned to the ring in February this year to defeat Mike Gavronski but did not put his belt on the line.

The TGB Promotions and Premier Boxing Champions event on Sunday will be a great show and will put two undefeated fighters face to face.

Cazares will not be an easy opponent. The Mexican earned this opportunity after defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by technical decision last September. The 30-year-old fighter comes with nothing to lose on his first presentation outside Mexican borders.

The official weigh-in ceremony will take place next Saturday and on Sunday they will step into the ring. Both fighters are undefeated; Morrel has 4 wins, 3 by KO, while Cazares has 12 wins, and 5 KOs.
