World Boxing Association (WBA) World Bantamweight Champion Jamie McDonnell (29-2-1, 13KO’s) and challenger Naoya Inoue (15-0, 13KO’s) held the final press conference in Tokyo, Japan, before their fight this Friday, May 25th.

The fight will streamed live via ESPN+, the new streaming service just launched last last month by the network sports giant that will feature sporting events not shown on their normal television network.

At the final press conference the fighters selected their gloves of choice.  Inoue will be fighting in black ‘Winning’ gloves while McDonnell will be wearing gold Grant gloves.

The fighters re-stated things some things that they have been mentioning in the build up to the fight, with McDonnell giving Inoue props, stating “We know he is a very good fighter, we know his qualities but we are ready to bring it!”

“The Monster”, as Inoue is aptly nicknamed, stated once again “McDonnell is a good opponent to have for my first fight at Bantamweight. He is tough but I want the knockout.”

The table is set for the weigh-in and then the fight itself.  Friendly reminder that you can download the ESPN+ app and get the first week free – catching this fight card as well as the fight card in Fresno California that has WBA World Super Flyweight Champion Khalid Yafai defending against David Carmona.
