WBC/WBA welterweight and super welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather and former champion Marcos Maidana faced off at the final press conference on Wednesday for their showdown on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The mood seemed somewhat muted due to heat Floyd has received from some in the press over comments he made on the Ray Rice situation. Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe admonished the press over the treatment Floyd’s been getting.

Floyd Mayweather: “I’ve had a remarkable training camp…truly unbelievable…it’s all about blood, sweat and tears and that’s what the fans will see Saturday night…the first fight was very interesting. Hopefully this one is even more exciting. He deserves the rematch. A true champion never backs down so I accepted the rematch.”

Marcos Maidana: I’m ready to make history.
