The North American Floyd Mayweather Jr gave the so expected rematch to Marcos René Maidana, and defeated by unanimous decision to retained the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Council belts and keep his unbeaen record 47-0, 26 KO´s, in Las Vegas.

The judges scored the bout 115-112, 116-111, 116-111 all for Mayweather.

Mayweather avoided to be a fixed target, moved all around the ring, and also avoided the ropes and being cornered like in their first battle. He managed, in the major part of the actions to show the slow and erratic Argentine.

Almost all the rounds were a copy of the previous one, until the eighth when champion accused the Argentine to bite off his glove in a clinch. He claimed and for a few minutes there was confusion, but action continued.

Maidana had assured, before the fight, that he would throw less but more effective punchesly, however threw 572 hits, but only connected 128; unlike Mayweather who threw 326 and hit 166 in the Argentina.
