Agit Kabayel retained his WBA Continental Heavyweight crown with a wide unanimous decision win over Kevin Johnson on Saturday at the Seebühnee Elbauenpark in Magdeburg, Germany.

The undefeated German won the scorecards of 118-111, 118-111, and 119-110, which show who was better in the ring despite the entertaining bout.

The champion was able to keep the American at a distance, especially in the first half of the fight, which he dominated at ease with the good use of the jab and the right hand as his main weapon to hurt. However, as the rounds went by, Johnson was able to decipher the monarch and managed to land several power punches that put Kabayel in trouble.

The fight was quite competitive in the final rounds although the local fighter was able to keep the advantage and use all his tools to win and get closer to great opportunities.

This was the 28-year-old’s 21st victory in his career, while Johnson, a 41-year-old veteran, now has a record of 35 wins, 18 losses, 1 draw, and 19 KOs.
