Venezuelan fighter, Jonathan “El fino” Hernandez, will be defending for the first time the Fedelatin welterweight title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) against Argentine Marcelo Sanchez.

The ten-round bout will be the main attraction of the event to be held on July 1 at the Luna Park stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event will be broadcasted by TyC Sports.

Jonathan Hernandez (10-6 / 6 KO), 28 years old, has a knockout power of over 60% and accumulates two knockouts in his last five fights. Likewise, he will step into the ring for the fourth time in 2023.

It is worth remembering that he defeated Marcelo Puebla (5-1) by unanimous decision at the beginning of the year. Then he would do the same in March against Dario Soto, but this time he would finish by knockout.

His most recent duel was last April, where he won the vacant Fedelatin 145 lbs. belt against his compatriot, Kelvinyer Salazar (18-2-1) by knockout in the fifth round of the fight.

¨El fino¨ native of Cantaura, Venezuela, through his official Instagram account has made known that he is doing his preparation camp in Argentina and expressed to be ready for the new challenge: “We continue preparing to give our best on July 1 at Luna Park”.

Argentine boxer, Marcelo Gabriel Sánchez, will be looking to overcome his complicated two-fight losing streak. The native of the city of Buenos Aires, will face his second fight in this 2023, at the beginning of the year, he lost by knockout in the fifth round against Cristian Ayala (10-2-1).

However, in his five most recent fights, he has won three times by unanimous decision. Also, his last win came in early 2022 over fellow countryman Carlos Aquino.

The 29-year-old Sanchez (8-4-3 1KO), with a knockout power below 10%, will step into the ring to claim what could be the second regional belt of his boxing career.
