The World Boxing Association (WBA) released its female March ratings with the awards to the most outstanding fighters, which went to Jessica Nery Plata as the boxer of the month, and Terri Harper as the Honorable Mention. 

Nery Plata made a big impact by defeating Yésica Bopp by split decision on March 12, in Panama. The Mexican cut the Argentinean’s streak of 23 defenses and won the WBA world light flyweight title in a great performance during a very tough fight. 

Meanwhile, Harper won the WBA Intercontinental lightweight championship by defeating Yamila Abellaneda by unanimous decision on March 12 in Nottingham. The British fighter recovered from a tough defeat and returned to the winning ways in a new division, in which she aspires to great opportunities.
