On Saturday, October 29, at Almaty Arena in Almaty, Kazakhstan, undefeated super welterweight Kanat “The Kazak” Islam (22-0, 18 KOs) outpointed Ghanaian Patrick Allotey (34-3, 28 KOs) by scores of 117-111 and 116-112 twice after 12 rounds.

Despite what some in the media have written, the fight was not for the WBA Intercontinental or any other regional title associated with the World Boxing Association.
