Kevin Gonzalez and Antonio Guzman cleared weight for their World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Americas super bantamweight title bout, to be held on Saturday at the Palenque de la Feria Ganadera, in Culiacan, Mexico.

Gonzalez weighed in at 121.4 pounds and Guzman stopped the scales at 121.2 pounds, both below the 122 pounds required by the division, and were ready for the bout.

“Jackal” Gonzalez, a native of Mexico, will make the first defense of the crown he won last July 30 when he defeated Alexander Mejia by technical knockout in the seventh round.

Guzman, a native of Venezuela, is an opponent with a good record who already has international experience and wants to surprise on Mexican soil.

The champion has a record of 23 wins, no losses and one draw, while the challenger has 21 wins and 2 losses.
