The scale was not a problem for the four boxers that will be protagonists this Saturday night, January 27, in Los Angeles, as they completed the weigh-in ceremony and will be able to fight for the World Boxing Association titles.

Regarding the WBA Welterweight Championship, which is currently vacant, the Argentine Lucas Matthysse stopped the scale at 147 pounds, while his opponent, Thai Tewa Kiram, stopped it at 146.25 pounds. Now, they only have to wait for the initial bell. The South American has a record of 38 victories, 4 defeats and 35 knockouts, while the Asian has won 38 contests, has not lost any fights and has knocked out 28 opponents.

On the other hand, in the WBA Lightweight title fight, the current champion, Venezuelan Jorge Linares weighed in at 135 pounds and the Filipino Mercito Gesta weighed in at 134.8 pounds. Thus, the “Golden Boy” is ready to face the third defense of his WBA belt at 135 pounds, while the Asian will face his first world title fight. Linares has a record of 43 wins, 3 losses and 27 knockouts, while Gesta has won 31 bouts, lost one, tied 2 and knocked out 17 times.

In this way, the World Boxing Association titular activity begins in 2018, year that promises great fights.
