In a different scenario and after more than a year, the World Boxing Association featherweight champion, Erika Cruz, will make her second defense against Canadian boxer Jelena Mrdjenovich. The rematch will take place in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, on September 3. 

To be more precise, Cruz managed to overcome Mrdjenovich on April 22, 2021 in the North American city of New York; West Point. There, the Mexican and member of the National Guard in her country, nicknamed “Dinamita”, was very consistent with her desire to win the title and overpowered Jelena Mrdjenovich who had owned the black and gold belt at 126 for more than 5 years. That fight had to be stopped in the seventh round due to a pronounced cut after an accidental clash of heads. 

The experienced former world champion wants a rematch to regain her reign and the young Erika Cruz will come out with dynamite between her teeth to defend what she has earned.
