Mexican Eduardo “Zurdo” Ramirez informed the World Boxing Association (WBA) of his decision to vacate his Interim Featherweight belt through a letter sent by his promotions company, Sampson Boxing.

Ramirez had held the belt since May 1st when he defeated fellow Mexican Isaac Avelar by TKO in California.

The Mexican fighter sent an email in which he thanked the WBA for the opportunities and explained his regret for having to make such a difficult decision. However, he stressed that another opportunity has presented itself and that he will take another direction in his career soon.

The pioneer body appreciates his dedication in the ring and applauds his pride in wearing the black and gold colors. We hope that great opportunities will come his way and that he will continue to grow as the great fighter he is.
