The bout for the undisputed featherweight title between the World Boxing Association (WBA) champion Erika Cruz and Amanda Serrano, who holds the IBF, WBC and WBO belts, was confirmed on Tuesday.

Both will step into the ring on February 4 at the Madison Square Garden Theater, New York, for a highly anticipated duel in which the winner will take all the 126-pound belts.

Mexican Cruz will expose her black and gold crown for the third time. She won her belt last April 22, 2021 by defeating Canadian Jelena Mrdjenovich, while she defended it for the first time against Melissa Esquivel in November of that same year and completed her second defense in a rematch with Mrdjenovich in September 2022.

Amanda Serrano is a historical figure in the sport and last defeated Sarah Mahfoud last September. That fight marked Serrano’s return to 126 pounds after fighting at lightweight in early 2022 against Katie Taylor in the Mega Bout held in New York.

The fight will be part of the event to be organized by Matchroom Boxing. Cruz has a record of 15 wins, 1 loss and 3 knockouts, while Serrano has 43 wins, 2 setbacks, 1 draw and 30 knockouts.
