Argentine Brian Castaño retained the World Boxing Association Super Welterweight championship when he defeated Frenchman Cedric Vitu by technical knockout in the 12th round in La Seine Musicale de Boulogne-Billancourt, in France.

Brian took advantage of a great performance against the local boxer to go all out in search of a stop to the fight in the final round, and he made it, because after sending him to the canvas, he gave it his all to force the referee, Gustavo Padilla, to halt all actions.

Castaño successfully defended the WBA title for the first time as Regular Champion, since his two previous fights were for the Interim title at 154 pounds (69,853 kilograms).

With this triumph, his second in a row in France after having beaten Michel Soro last July, Brian Castaño improved his record to 15-0 with 11 knockouts, while Vitu, who saw how his run of 11 wins in a row was broken, now has a record of 46-3 and 19 knockouts.
