Canelo-Munguía: Mexican Fiesta in Las Vegas

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Jaime Munguia had their first face-to-face meeting on Tuesday in Beverly Hill, marking the official kick-off of the promotion of their upcoming fight on May 4 for the undisputed super middleweight title.

They both participated in photo shoots and some activities before the official press conference, where they stood face to face and talked about what they expect ahead of the fight to be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“I am very happy and I have always been proud of any Mexican, of music, of sports, and I am proud of Jaime Munguía, of what he has achieved, and he has always had my support and will always have it, and today it is our turn to face each other, which makes me proud, that two Mexicans monopolize boxing worldwide, and on May 4 I will deliver everything as I have always done, throwing punches and hungry to succeed. People are going to win,” assured the champion in his speech.

Munguia also showed respect for Canelo and highlighted his country in this important event starring two Mexicans.

“The truth is that it is a great achievement to face the greatest fighter of this era and the fighter who carries the four belts. We are preparing hard and it is the biggest commitment of my career. It will be a great fight and we are going to make Mexico vibrate,” he said.

The promotion of the fight will continue in the next few days and then they will return to their training camps to continue with their respective preparations for the fight.
