This Wednesday, the Alvarez brothers received recognition for the Guinness World Record achieved on June 8, 2008, when the seven fought on the same bill in Zapopan, Jalisco.

During yesterday’s press conference, the recognition was given to the seven fighters, led by Saul Alvarez, who was the star of the event prior to his fight against John Ryder this coming Saturday.

Rigoberto, Daniel, Ricardo, Gonzalo, Victor and Ramon were all those who, along with Saul, stepped into the ring that night 15 years ago and who marked history to leave their family’s tradition on high.

On that occasion, Alvarez defeated Miguel “Títere” Vázquez, in a great fight between two Mexican boxing prospects at the time.

The WBA congratulates the Alvarez brothers for such tremendous recognition and thanks them for all their contribution to boxing both as fighters and in the various roles they have subsequently fulfilled.
